Elihu said of God, “He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous” (Job 36:6). What a comfort that may have been to Job. Here was a man who felt as if God had forsaken him. It seemed as if Job was going through his sufferings without the assistance of the Lord. But God had kept his eyes upon Job through the traumatic events that had overtaken him.
Through the course of a pandemic, job losses, economic distress, and social upheaval it may seem as if God is far away. But we have comfort that God doesn’t turn His eyes away from His people.
Jesus said, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they” (Matthew 6:26)? If our Heavenly Father can take care of birds, then He most certainly can take care of us.
Beloved, He is not far from us. He sees our worry, fear, anxiousness, trials and tribulations. His eye is upon us, let us keep our eyes upon Him!
