Before you post ask yourselves these questions

1. Will this post honor and glorify Jesus? (1 Cor. 10:31).

2. Will this post bring shame to Christ’s name? (Lev. 19:12 NLT).

3. Will this post offend a brother or sister in Christ? (Pro. 18:19).

4. Will this post, whether true or false, wound someone’s conscience? (1 Cor. 8:7-13).

5. Will this post offend my neighbors or will it harm my witness in the community? (Matt. 22:39; Php. 2:13; 1 Tim. 3:7).

6. Will this post cause division in my local church? (Pro. 6:16-19).

7. Will this post be taken the wrong way? Does enough nuance exist for this to be taken lightly?

8. Will this post increase awareness of Christ’s love, grace, mercy, and salvation? (1 Cor. 2:2).

9. Will this post in anyway tear someone down in order to lift myself up? (Matt. 20:26).

10. Will this post cause doctrinal confusion or promote false doctrine? (Rom. 16:17; Col. 2:8).

11. Will this post be considered gossip, backbiting, or strife? (Pro. 18:8; Rom. 1:30; 2 Cor. 12:20).

12. Will this post promote peace with all men? (Heb. 12:14).

13. Will this post promote holiness? (Heb. 12:14).

14. Will this post promote the values and principles of my local church? (1 Cor. 1:10).

15. Will this post be a representation of the works of the flesh: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings? (Gal. 5:19-21).

16. Will this post represent the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance? (Gal. 5:22-23).

The apostle Paul said, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Php. 2:3-4). If it doesn’t glorify Jesus, don’t post it. If it doesn’t edify your brother or sister in Christ, don’t post it. If it causes a weaker brother or sister’s conscience to be wounded, don’t post it. If it promotes false doctrine, or if you’re unsure if it is doctrinally sound, don’t post it. If it harms your chances to be a witness in your community, don’t post it.
